Starr Capital was formed in 2003 by Timothy S. Eden who has 30 years experience in real estate development, marketing, finance and brokerage. Through institutional joint venture relationships, Starr Capital invests in real estate assets for cash flow and development throughout the Washington, DC Metropolitan area with a focus on multi-family, retail and hospitality sectors.

Prior to forming Starr Capital, Mr. Eden was Senior Vice President at Walker & Dunlop for equity and debt financing and Senior Vice President at Cassidy & Pinkard, now Cushman & Wakefield, for sales and marketing. In addition, Mr. Eden was Director of Acquisitions for Capital Automotive REIT during its start-up phase. Mr. Eden is a 1979 graduate of Hobart College and served on the Board of Governors as a Trustee from 2008-2016. Eden received his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School in 1987.

In 2016, Starr Capital teamed with SV Hospitality to develop the 173-unit Residence Inn by Marriott in Silver Spring, MD. SV Hospitality is owned and managed by Lee LaRochelle, a 35-year veteran of Marriott International and the Marriott Trust with broad experience in all phases of the industry. Through this alliance with SV Hospitality, Starr Capital continues to pursue hotel acquisition and development opportunities.

Also in 2016, Tom Burdeshaw joined the Residence Inn project team as Construction Manager. Tom is a 35 year veteran of the development community with significant project management roles at Comstock and Marriott.
