In August 2016, Starr Capital and SV Hospitality formed a joint venture with Petroleum Marketing Group (PMG) to develop a 14 story 173-unit Residence Inn by Marriott hotel in Silver Spring, Maryland. The 149,000 square foot building will include 5,000 sf of meeting space and a rooftop terrace. Located at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road, this development will help to complete the downtown skyline with a major contribution to the aging hotel sector. Groundbreaking has been delayed due to pandemic influence on demand. Multifamily is being considered as an alternative. PMG is an owner and operator of over 1,000 service stations along the east coast. SV Hospitality is managed by Lee LaRochelle who is a 35 year veteran of Marriott International and the Marriott Trust.
